Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, some information is collected automatically by our website host and the tools described below. This can include your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the page that sent you to us, and when and how long you visit. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies. See "Cookies and analytics" below.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

Answer your questions and messages.

Send you the newsletter and recall updates you asked for.

Process your donation and send your receipt and tax acknowledgment.

Understand how people use our website so we can make it more useful to families.

Measure how well our outreach and campaigns are working.

Protect our forms from spam and abuse.

Keep the financial and legal records a nonprofit is required to keep.

How we share your information

[CONFIRM: We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade our mailing list or donor list.]

We share information only with service providers who help us run our website and our work, and only so they can do that work for us. These include:

Duda, which hosts our website and receives our contact and newsletter form submissions.

Harness Giving, which provides our donation form.

Constant Contact, which we use to send our email newsletters.

Mozart Works, which provides website analytics and supporter tools for our site. Mozart Works uses PostHog to collect analytics data. [CONFIRM: donor data in Mozart Works. If donor records sync to Mozart Works, say so here.]

Google, whose reCAPTCHA service protects our forms from spam.

Meta (Facebook and Instagram), through the Meta Pixel described below.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect the rights or safety of Reese's Purpose or others, or if Reese's Purpose ever merges with or transfers its work to another organization.

Donations and payment processing

When you give through our website, you use a donation form provided by Harness Giving. Your payment is processed by [PAYMENT PROCESSOR]. Your full card or bank details go to the payment provider, not to Reese's Purpose. [CONFIRM: Reese's Purpose does not see or store full card numbers.]

We receive your name, contact information, and the details of your gift so that we can thank you, send your receipt, and keep accurate records. Harness Giving handles your information under its own privacy policy: [HARNESS GIVING PRIVACY POLICY URL].

Email communications and unsubscribing

If you join our mailing list, we will send you our newsletter, which includes recall updates and news about our work. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email, or by writing to [CONTACT EMAIL].

Even if you unsubscribe, we may still send you messages about a gift you made, such as your donation receipt.

Our email provider may record whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. We use this to understand which information is most useful to families. [CONFIRM: email-link identification. If emails are sent with tracked links through Mozart Works, add: "When you click a link in one of our emails, our website analytics may connect that visit to your email record."]

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Our website and the tools on it use cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) for the following:

Running the website. Our website host uses cookies needed for the site to work properly.

Website analytics. Mozart Works, using PostHog, records the pages you visit, when you leave a page, and when you open a donation form. It stores an identifier on your device so it can recognize repeat visits.

Meta Pixel. The Meta Pixel tells Meta when a page on our site is viewed. This helps us measure how people find us from Facebook and Instagram. [CONFIRM: Meta advertising use. If the Pixel is used for ads, add: "It may also be used to show our messages to people on Facebook and Instagram."] You can manage how Meta uses this information in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.

Spam protection. Google reCAPTCHA on our forms collects information about your device and how you use the form, under Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site, such as forms, may not work properly if you do. [GPC / DO NOT TRACK RESPONSE: state how the site responds to Global Privacy Control or "Do Not Track" signals. Today it does not respond to them.]

Third-party links and embedded content

Our website links to other websites, such as the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Congress.gov, partner organizations, and our social media pages on Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, and TikTok. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information. Please read their privacy policies.

Some pages include content from other services, such as a YouTube video on our Advocacy page and the Harness Giving form on our Give page. Embedded content works the same way as if you visited the other site directly. Those services may collect information about you and use their own cookies.

If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information through our website, please contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will delete it.
